Four questioned in St Lucia prison break

caribbean360 – Police in St Lucia say they’re questioning four men, including a correctional officer and a former warder, in connection with the August 8th prison break at the island’s main jail.

No charges have been laid, however.

The names of the four who were taken into custody have not been released.

Lawmen’s interrogation of the four is the latest development in the investigations into the escape of two Venezuelans who were jailed for drug offences and a local serving time for gun and ammunition possession, from the Bordelais Correctional Facility.

The escapees are still on the run and the Stephenson King administration has ordered an independent inquiry into the jail break.

On the day of the incident, heavily armed men opened fire outside the prison as the three men – Eulice Marino Luna, 33, 29-year-old Egardo Boada Redriguez, and Mohammed ‘Tookey’ Duncan – escaped.
